The system is very feature rich but getting
started only takes a few steps.
To place an ad you need to be registered and
logged in.
Click "Login" in the column to the left to
register.
That will bounce you into the Register/Login panel.
Select ". . .click here to register now"
Read the user agreement and
check the box, then continue.
Some information is required when registering; name, email and date of birth. You must be
18 or older to place an ad.
The rest is voluntary information.
Enter a USER NAME
and password.
Type in the "Anti-bot" code word and then click the
"Register" button.
(For more information on "Anti-bot" select the Help button
during registration.)
Security: Your password is
emailed to you.
Check your email and copy your password.
Return to HarborClassifieds, login, with your
chosen username and the password
sent to your email.
You can login in now with your user name and password.
Please be sure to check your email and reply to it to verify
your account.
Un-verified user accounts will be deactivated.
When logging in, the screen opens on the General Membership Information
(Membership Home).
Click "Change Your Password" to something easy to remember.
(Tip: The General Membership page view expands to more options
when logged in.)
Place an Ad: Click it
on the menu column to the left.
Next, we see: " Choose
a Category
" - click it and select a category.
We suggest using the "0 - Testing Area" for practice..
Practice and practice again until it feels comfortable.
Photos: can be uploaded - we strongly
recommend shrinking them to 640 x 480 size.
You can still upload bigger pictures, but it takes a lot longer, and they
still show as a 640 x 480 size.
When practicing in the
testing area, please set the number of days the ad will run to
"1" day. This ad will become part of your personal folder
under "My Ads" and it can be deleted from
there. Again, this is a good practice exercise.
Remember; this is much like
placing an ad in a newspaper, except less expensive. Unlike the newspaper, a phone number is not
required, but an email address contact is.
One last thing; registered
users can use HarborClassifieds "Message System" (see menu on
left). Private email addresses are not revealed when
using the Message System.
